As COP16 wraps up in Cali, Colombia, Tambia Coffee is proud to reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and biodiversity. At our La Sierra farm in Colombia, our mission goes beyond producing exceptional coffee. We’re dedicated to preserving the diverse ecosystems that make Colombian coffee farms so unique.
In Colombia, biodiversity is something to celebrate—especially as the country recently topped the Global Big Day 2024 with over 1,550 recorded bird species! At La Sierra alone, we’re home to over 115 bird species, from vibrant tanagers to migratory birds like the Red-headed Barbet and Apical Flycatcher. Our Rainforest Alliance-certified practices support these birds through sustainable farming and active reforestation efforts, creating habitats with native trees to protect both avian life and the health of our coffee plants.
For birdwatching enthusiasts, La Sierra offers a special experience to observe these incredible species in their natural environment, connecting coffee culture with Colombia’s rich wildlife. Every cup of Tambia coffee reflects our sustainable farming approach and helps to preserve Colombian ecosystems and biodiversity.
Choosing Tambia means enjoying a delicious coffee while supporting responsible farming and conservation. Join us on this journey to make a positive impact, sip by sip.
Stay tuned for more of our initiatives in biodiversity and coffee sustainability—and if you'd like to visit La Sierra or any of our other Colombian coffee farms, please reach out!
